The 70 week prophecy of Daniel
Of all the controversial topics found in the Bible, none other has been so abused or misunderstood than the prophecy known as Daniel's 70 Weeks. There is no other Messianic prophecy that so perfectly foretells the coming of Christ and the year of His baptism and crucifixion. Daniel's 70 weeks is actually not that difficult to understand and current historical information makes it relatively easy to get accurate dates.
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

And He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud,
And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark:
and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

Then Deborah said to Barak, "Up! For this is the day in which the Lord has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the Lord gone out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him.

Gods Promise to Noah -Genesis 9:9-3 New King James Version
9 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. 2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.
Daniel 9:22
;And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and understanding. 23 At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.
Why Does God Save all of us when our Behaviour is so Contemptible?
ReplyDeleteThe short answer is because he loves us. So let's ask the question again. Why does he love us? Well it is because even the foulest most animalistic most anempathetic most selfish shallow pig on the face of this earth loves someone, even if it is only himself. Yes, there is something in his heart so powerful that one day it will transform the impenetrable granite of his hatred into the quilted luxury of God's love. Now we humans cannot always see that seed of love in his heart, because in too many cases it has hardly germinated! But God can see it, because he put it there. It is that seed, that seed alone, which makes us worth saving. It makes us all worth saving. That is why we are commanded to love even our enemies, because all of them will one day be saved and become our friends. And that is what it means to be a son of God.
So God very rarely saves us for what we are today. He saves us for what he knows we can be tomorrow. But being omnipotent and omniscient he is actually saving us for what he knows we will be, tomorrow. May tomorrow come soon!
The Signs of the Times point to ... NOW!
1 Departing now, Jesus was on his way from the temple, but his disciples approached to show him the buildings of the temple.
2 In response he said to them: Do you not behold all these things? Truly I say to you, By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.
3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?
4 And in answer Jesus said to them: Look out that nobody misleads you;
5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.
6 you are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.
8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress (Matthew 24).
34 Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur (Matthew 24).
Which generation? Well rephrasing the question Jesus was asked...
1. When will all the stones be knocked down of the Jewish temple standing upon mount Moriah in 33 AD and of the Muslim temple standing in the same place today? For the stones of both temples will have the same fete heralded by the same signs.
2. What will be the sign of your first and second presence?
3. What will be the sign of the conclusion of the Jewish system of things and the sign of the conclusion of the world and possibly also the sign of the conclusion of the Roman system of things?
Then we must realise that scriptures have both literal and symbolic fulfilments. So Matthew 24 is a literal series of signs for the knocking down of any physical temple upon mount Moriah and for the end of the world and possibly also for the end of the Roman world. Then it is also a series of signs which identify the two presences of the Christ.
